you need some weiserform hardfaced 18mm ply or similar, it`s not cheap but can be used a few times before it`s Knackered, fix as normal and coat with mould oil before pouring and if the jobs pokered right you should get a great finish. You can rub up afterwards ( if necessary) with a fine sand and white cement to obtain an alabaster like finish. hope this helps.

im looking to use a series of concrete cast in situ retaining walls in garden and im looking to have a smooth even surface like motorway bridges - do i need to coat the shuttering or what?
